Module 1 – Introducing Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
In this module you will get an overview of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and the tools used for developing reports, managing reports, and configuring the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.

In this module you will learn to author basic reports, including configuring data sources and data sets, creating tabular reports, summarizing data, and applying basic formatting with expressions.

Module 3 – Grouping and enhancing basic Reports
In this module you will learn how to group data in reports and how to implement drill down. You will also learn how to render reports in different formats like Excel and PDF.

Module 4 – Using Parameters and advanced Data Sets in Reports
In this module you will learn to interact with data and reports using parameters. You will also learn how to create reports using multiple data sources with expressions and drill through actions.

  • Stored Procedures
  • Reports using multiple Data Sources

Module 5 – Graphical Reports
In this module you will learn how to create graphical reports using different types of charts. You will also learn how to use data bars, sparklines, and indicators.

Module 6 – Publishing and Executing Reports
In this module you will learn about the various options to publish reports to the report server and how to configure report execution. You will also learn about the various options of using SQL Server Reporting Services with Power BI.

  • Caching Reports
  • SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI


Module 7 – Using Subscriptions
In this module you will learn how to implement subscriptions to distribute reports by schedule in different formats like Excel and PDF either by e-mail or to a shared folder.

  • Data-driven Subscriptions

Module 8 – Managing Security
In this module you will learn how to plan and implement security in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. You will learn how to grant access on the site level and item level securing your server, folders, and reports.

  • User defined Roles
  • Linked Reports
